Without any hope of fame for doing it or money for pay
I used to love reading rhymes as a young boy
And writing them today i thoroughly enjoy
Just one with rhyming words who does love to play
If i did not enjoy doing it i would give it away
There are many like me in every village and city and town
Who write for the love of it not for money or literary renown
Far easier ways than writing for to make for yourself a name
Few literary millionaires who know of widespread fame
And though my worth as a writer i have reason to doubt
No shortage of material for to write rhymes about
Something i just enjoy doing i write every day
Without any desire for fame or for pay.
