The Thought Reader

Today the beautiful young woman he met on the street
Was one for the first time he happened to meet
With brown eyes and shoulder length hair wavy and brown
One who was a stranger to his side of the town

She asked him for directions to the library they chatted for awhile
This beautiful woman with warmth in her smile
As lovely as he had met or seen for sometime
Perhaps in her mid twenties in her physical prime

Of her to join him in a coffee the thought it did cross his mind
For as well as being beautiful she seemed nice and kind
Of forming an intimate relationship with her his hopes did rise
But as well as being beautiful she was perceptive and wise

As if his very thoughts she was able to read
She made sure that their chat for him to nothing would lead
She said thanks for telling me where the library is i must say goodbye
As my husband is waiting for me in the car nearby

Many women can be perceptive in truth one can say
That she had been reading his thoughts it did seem this way
Since she realized that a love interest in her he did show
That she was spoken for she was letting him know.
