Of every human friend Mother Earth is in need
In our abuse of her for our financial gain we well may succeed
For future generations of people make life very tough
In a World where survival for many is now hard enough
In our abuse of her for our financial gain
On the Earth that does feed us we are causing great strain
for our greed the people of the future will pay
We are not laying the foundation for the betterment of future generations in our environmental behaviour today
The Earth is for us to live on and with other creatures to share
But due to Climate Change and the destruction of natural habitat many creatures becoming rare
The first silent Spring for us in time may not be far away
And this is a sad thing for to have to say
Though on our very survival on her we depend
We do not treat our Earth Mother as a friend.
