Lucky The Non Heroes

We make heroes of men who have been dead for years

Whose deaths at a young age left their parents in tears

They died under enemy gunfire for their Country's flag

A noble death is always seen worthy of a brag

Their heroic deaths others to die like them inspire 

So many do need war heroes to admire

We are told they should be remembered as they died brave and young

And they do not deserve to be of the unsung

In death their own history by them has been made

By patriots from the memory not allowed for to fade

So many dead heroes every war does create

Many do not survive to enjoy hero worship among those who tempt fate

The war that made them heroes they did not survive

But lucky the non heroes they are alive.
