I was born and raised in view of Clara's hill
Within hearing distance of the silver tongued rill
Flowing through Claraghatlea from high Claramore
To the bigger waterways to the Atlantic shore
Far south of Duhallow time is telling on me
And I only have memories of the what used to be
Of where I used to live when my hair was dark brown
In the green countryside just west of Millstreet Town
Where I often daydreamed that I might be a poet
One seen to be worthy of literary note
But daydreams are just this and for few come true
And what we wish for in life is not always our due
I am ageing far south of Claraghatlea near the Town of Millstreet
In the green countryside where the waterways meet.
