A windy and a wet October day
But in the woodland just across the way
A yellow robin's ticking song I do hear
His kind in the wood can be heard at most times of year
With yellow unders and uppers of bluish grey
Of human kind not shy in any way
In cup nest of bark and lichen in tree fork the female two to three red spotted green eggs lay
And mostly on the ground they hunt for their insect prey
In or near woods birds one does often see
Often clinging sideways to trunk of tree
With head tilted sideways looking towards the ground
On the lookout for insects crawling around
Yellow robin is their common name
Not shy of humans they seem almost tame.
