That They Are Nature's Survivors

They have been trapped poisoned, shot and exposed to disease and yet they survive
And this due in part to their sexual drive
One female rabbit can give birth to forty young a year
That they are Nature's survivors  seems obviously clear

To rid the World of them humans their best do try
But extinction to rabbits will never apply
To farmers and gardeners they come at a huge financial cost
Due to rabbits every year billions in money is lost

Rabbits are Nature's survivors of them none can deny
The reason they survive calic virus and myxomatosis is they are quick to multiply
In the harshest of environments they are known to thrive
And against all of the odds in the World they survive

Due to poisoning and shooting every day millions of them die
But extinction for rabbits is based on a lie
That the female gives birth to forty young a year happens to be true
And for their survival skills credit to them is due.
