In the sunny blue sky just a few clouds of gray
Quite exceptional fine weather for the time of year
For the coastal Moyne Shire with Winter so near
Above the dry brown paddocks chirping as they fly
Chasing flying insects in the sunny sky
The dark welcome swallows who travel far and wide
On their migratory ways across the big countryside
The brown and dry paddocks in need of some rain
And not one drop of water in any roadside drain
But according to the weather forecasters rain to the Moyne Shire is near
News that the farmers and gardeners are happy to hear
A warm day in April well over twenty degrees
With the magpies warbling on the sunlit tall trees.
