It is something i have been doing for a long time
Without the rewards of money or any sort of fame
A rhymer never does become a great literary name
Since i feel as one unworthy of literary note
I never refer to myself as a poet
I add to my numbers of rhymes every day
If i did not enjoy doing it i would give it away
I used to like reading rhymes as a young boy
And writing them nowadays i thoroughly enjoy
In my mid seventies my best years long gone
But for as long as i can do i will keep rhyming on
I wrote my first rhymes forty nine years ago
And since time that ages has become my foe.
