In the green countryside where the waterways meet
In view of the mountains from here far away
The wildborn nesting birds singing today
The old fields resplendent in their April flowers
That have come to bloom in the recent Spring showers
April in Millstreet is a nice time of year
The countryside green and the Summer days near
The dark brown river bird dipper of breast white as snow
Is singing where Finnow to the Blackwater flow
The dark migratory swallows home from Lands far away
Will have young in the nest for to feed in May
In April in Millstreet the fields looking green
And Nature at her finest is to be seen.
