The man from the place where the Bass waters flow
Dark and deep to the Pacific winding it's way
In Bunurong Country by night and by day
Though he has never had a long term partner or wife
He is one who has had many lovers in his life
But since in any one place he has had not a long stay
If he has fathered children he cannot say
He has worked on building sites in many a city and town
Or his travels in the big country up and down
In his late eighties his better days are in the distant past
In the home for the aged he will breathe his last
Far from where the Bass to the ocean is babbling along
In the flat coastal country of the Bunurong.
