I do envy those who from home never travel far
And enjoy the short drive at the weekend in the family car
And on holiday from their hometown only travel fifty kilometers at most
They leave it to others of their overseas trips for to boast
Near where they first looked on the bright lamp of day
Their last remains forever will lay
The desire never in them for to live elsewhere
And experience life in the big World out there
Quite happy for to grow old in their first homeplace
Where to many their's is a known and loved face
Where most everybody does know them by name
Local recognition for them is quite sufficent fame
Quite different in their ways to those of nomadic race
One can only envy them for their strong sense of place.
