Material Wealth And Fame

In meaning quite different though in ways much the same
The things known as material wealth and fame
The desire for them have their source in greed
Though for it's betterment humanity of them not in need
The wealthy and famous eventually one day
End up in a similar place to where the humble and poor lay
The one known as death does not differentiate
Between the lives of those seen as ordinary and those seen as great
And this in itself seems a very good thing
Though the praises of the wealthy and famous the impressionable masses do sing
When the last breath of life from the wealthy and famous has gone
Over decades of years memories of them will live on
Though eventually memories do fade out to time
Just like the words will in this simple rhyme.
