It used to be a popular literary form rhyme
Though this is going back many decades in time
And though no shortage of rhymers in the World of today
That rhyme is no longer an in thing does seem true to say
Most things have their time and few things ever last
And what used to be rather popular in the past
Twenty first century literary critics rhymers do not rate
Nowadays they are seen to be out of date
Rhymers no longer held in high esteem
Just taken for granted is how it does seem
Though there are rhymers in every town
Few of them even know of local renown
Rhyme used to be popular decades ago
But what used to be it is no longer so.
