The sun it is shining in a sky blue and grey
And the blackbirds are singing in Yarpturk today
The weather temperature not too warm or cool around eighteen degrees
And the sweet scent of freshly mowed grass is blowing in the breeze
Quite close to Christmas and a New Year
December in Yarpturk to Summer's prime is near
January on an average warmer by six or seven degrees
Which gives rise to the increase in numbers of bush flies and bees
The paddocks quite green after the recent showers
Are looking quite resplendent in their yellow cape flowers
And the cattle chewing their cuds on lush grass do lay
For Nature's beauty to view one does not have to pay
The warbling of the magpies so distinctive and clear
And the songs of the pee wees always pleasant to hear.
