One of the great Gaelic Footballers of Millstreet
And as nice a person as one could wish to meet
One can say of him an inspiring young man
But sadly of life his was not a long span
A classy half forward in the Millstreet green
In his early twenties and his best yet not seen
But sadly cancer robbed him of life near his physical prime
Death can come to visit one at anytime
A credit to the game he played he just loved to compete
A skilful Gaelic Footballer and quick on his feet
For Cork's best defenders he proved quite a test
Long before he had reached his physical best
Thomas Kelleher he was one who died very young
And surely his praises deserve to be sung
Far more than being good at playing Gaelic Football
He was an honourable fellow overall
When the greats of Millstreet Gaelic football are spoken about
His is a name that cannot be left out
Yet it does seem a pity and so sad say
That he died so young and in a painful way
He did not live on for time to become his foe
Death robbed him of his life more than four decades ago
For Millstreeet so many great games Thomas Kelleher did play
But more than this he was a good person in every way.
