Australia has inspired the makers of song, story and rhyme
It is a very old Country perhaps as old as time
It's first people had lived here for sixty thousand years or more
Before the arrival of Europeans on the southern shore

Australia the Land of marsupials such as wombat, koala, wallaby and kangaroo
And many species of parrot such as rosella and lorikeet and cockatoo
And flora such as acacia, pittosporum and many species of eucalypt tree
In Australia there is so much natural beauty to see

Known for it's fierce bush fires and flooding and drought
Australia a vast Land of the World's far south
In the remote outback from sun and wind often looking bare and brown
Hundreds of kilometers between every bush town

For it's varying scenery Australia is quite well known
It has a natural rugged beauty of it's very own
When the first people arrived to it in time it was very old
And most of it's history in writing remain as untold.
