I Have Been Learning From Life

I have been learning from life over decades of time
And writing about it in doggerel rhyme
But the more i do learn the more i realize
That of life i know little this not a surprise

Who is or is not a poet or a poetess ask one other than me
As i am one who does not have a literary degree
I enjoyed reading rhymes as a school going boy
And writing them nowadays is a thing i enjoy

The roadways of life i have been up and down
Since i left my first home near a far away town
I have worked and mixed with people of all races and nations only to find
That most people in their ways are generous and kind

We learn as we live something new every day
We never stop learning life works in this way
You never stop learning though you look old and grey
And that there is not one who knows everything in truth one can say

To your higher self you can only live as true
And we all have our own dreams in life to pursue
Most people for themselves wish to make a name
Though few ever do know of great wealth and fame

The toddlers are learning from life before they learn how to crawl
And that we learn as we live does apply to us all
The accumulation of knowledge can bring with it humility
But to some ignorance is bliss is how it seems to be.
