Along the noisy streets of the busy big town
The buses, cars and trucks are buzzing up and down
But in the town park Nature's beauty to see
An urban home for the creatures who live wild and free
Close to human industry Nature lives near
Where the magpies do warble every day of the year
High on the trunk of an old gum tree
A brush tail possum is sleeping in a cavity
Unperturbed by the noisy traffic of the street nearby
This nocturnal marsupial of light of day shy
Under the cloak of night from hiding come out
And in search of food it's territory venture about
To go to the places where the wild creatures are
Even in a city or big town you do not have to walk far
When walking in your local park you will be
In the home of the urbanized wildborn and free.
