He may not have been the winner but he lost with grace
And accepted defeat with a smile on his face
But eventually his turn will come for to win
For the will to do better in him is within
And people will remember and of him will say
The very good loser is a winner today
With hope he is one who did keep faith
And everything does come to those who do wait
The very good loser he did win in style
In his moment of glory on his face a huge smile
Joyful in victory and gracious in defeat
He is one of those people who just loves to compete
Gracious in defeat and on his winning day
