You gave of your best that is all you could do
Today there were a few who were better than you
And though winning is the thing everybody does choose
For one for to win others do have to lose
You gave it your very best try in the race
And sadly for you today you did not run a place
But you did accept disappointment with grace
And congratulated the winner with a smile on your face
Your turn to win may not be far away
All things come to those who wait as the wise one does say
there are more losers than winners in life every day
This is how it is and will always be this way
Since the desire to do better in you is within
You are not that far away from a big win.
