In The Local Pub

 A cool Sunday evening in the old country town

The rain from the grey sky is drizzling down

On the deserted streets but in the pub the laughter of cheer

Where some of the local cricket fans are enjoying their beer

As an evening of drinking and celebrating in the pub begin

For the National team on their big cricket win

Every big win for the National team for the sports fans a sense of pride

The same in the country town as it is Worldwide

In the local pub laughter abound

And laughter it does make for a pleasant sound

Patriotism in sport is a National thing

And every home Country win joy to the fans does bring

On the deserted street the rain drizzling down

But there is joy in the pub of  the old country town.
