Eddy Tucker

Few people like him in life one ever meet
One of the wisest ever in the Parish of Millstreet
Born and raised in Ballydaly but where he lives today
Is something i do not know of and of this cannot say

He has passed the three score and ten years of his life span
Eddy Tucker he is such an enlightened man
For one who knows so much about psychology and human body language humble in his way
People like he is i do not meet every day

Eddy Tucker one not into sports as i do recall
Cannot even ever remember him playing Gaelic Football
Or talking of hurling or rally drivers or fast racing cars
Or celebrity entertainers or famed movie stars

And since the working of the human mind in life his favourite subject and thing
Of the praises of such a person few bother to sing
Back there in the countryside near Millstreet Town
Where to be an enlightened person does not earn you a claim even to local renown

Though in Millstreet Parish his to many is a known face
He is one there who does seem out of place
Since he does not have many to talk with what he likes talking about
Of most conversations he must feel left out

In my memories of the people of the place where the journey in life for me began
Eddy Tucker remains as a memorable man
He is one of those who has the bright inner glow
And where he lives today i cannot say i do know.
