To say otherwise would be for to pretend
To most people their dog is their greatest friend
For a few kind words and a good feed and a walk every day
Your dog as your best friend for it's lifetime will stay

A woman may lose the love of her husband or a man may lose the love of his wife
But their dog as their best friend will love them for life
You are the World's greatest person in your dog's eyes
And that you have flaws it does not realize

That dogs are ever faithful does seem, obviously clear
So many stories of their loyalty one does read of and hear
In defense of their owners so many brave dogs have died
You have your best friend in your dog at your side

To your dog you are one who is truly great
When you come home from work it greets you at the gate
So happy to welcome you home for the night
With a wagging tail it barks in delight

For as long as it lives to you it will remain true
Your dog is one who will never doubt you
