The Person You Are

The size of your home or the size of your car
Does not tell the World of the person you are
Love of material things to compassion not known to give rise
I can only quote from the words of the wise

One of the materially successful people of the town
To be financially successful your main claim to renown
But to any poor person you are not a friend
To say otherwise would be for to pretend

The kind and compassionate one can only admire
And the generosity in others never fail to inspire
They are the people who give to receive
On what goes around comes around on they do believe

You are one of those who does impress
Those who look up to those for their material success
And on saying the impressionable are not of the few
Is not saying anything that is in any way that is new

But they are by far greater people than you
Who for the less fortunate good things always do
Though never among the admired of the town
They never forsake the financially down.
