James Elroy Flecker the London born poet died as a young man
Of years he only lived a four decade span
A Greek lady Helle Skiaderessi was his devoted wife
She was his inspiration and the great love of his life
Flecker was one with words who had a way
And many of his poems are living today
One of the great English poets of his time
He was a master of metre and rhyme
The fans of Flecker's poetry as fans do remain
And his collected poems among their favourite books to read do retain
Quite a master wordsmith of him one can say
With rhyming words he was one who loved to play
In Cheltenham at the foot of the Cotswold hills his last remains lay
His poetry is enjoyed by many today.
