In His Own Company

He is one who never does seek a new friend
And he cannot be far from his life's journey's end
In his early eighties he lives on his own
A private sort of a man to many he is not known
And those who know of him of him does say
That he always has lived life in the quiet way
He does not have children though in his twenties for a few years he had a wife
But she was one who had ambitions in life
So she left him and he has lived alone since then
He stays unattached and has aged as one of the town's single men
Quite a harmless old fellow on his own him i always see
He never does fail for to say good day to me
Content in his existence he seems to be
Perhaps he is happy in his own company.
