Only Among The Most Honourable

Quite humble in his ways he never acts tough
The man dismissed by big brother's judgmental as one of the not good enough
He does not have a steady job and does not have uni degrees
And any chance of self betterment he fails for to seize

Quite a nice person and not an outsider by choice
In the local community his is not a heard voice
But a recent act of bravery has silenced those of him who did not have nice things to say
A person's standing in a community can change in a day

The only child a teenage daughter of wealthy parents whilst swimming in the bay
By a huge outgoing wave from the shallows was swept away
He overheard her cries for help and despite the danger to him
In the treacherous waters out to her he did swim

To the safety of the beach he dragged her out
Where a lot of curious onlookers were gathered about
The hero of the day to many a surprise
In their eyes his community status received an instant rise

A community award for bravery he choose to turn down
None more humble or brave than him in the town
Those who laud people for their material successes have got it all wrong
Only among the most honourable of people the humble brave does belong.
