At the flower shop he called to buy flowers for his wife whilst on his way
Home from the pub on the evening of Valentine's Day
The woman who raises their children and devotes her life
In performing her marital duties as a mother and wife
He hands her the flowers with a hug and a kiss and to her does say
Happy Valentine's darling hope you had a nice day
She thanks him and whilst placing the flowers in a jug
She thinks to herself he must think i'm a mug
If he thinks i have forgotten the beatings from him in the recent past
Lets hope these niceties towards me with him does last
On Valentine's Day so many males of his kind
Buy flowers for their wives or partners to ease their guilt of mind
But women are smarter than most men realize
And their true feelings towards them are good to disguise.
