For To Say Sorry

The wrongs of the past we cannot repair

But if to somebody you have been unfair

Verbally or on some other sort of a way

Sorry should not be a hard word to say

For to say sorry can be quite a humbling thing

And some relief from guilt to the one who causes the offense does bring

There are people being offensive by word or deed every day

And sorry for causing offense not everyone to the offended one say

Most people accept an apology if the offense is not a serious crime

And most things are healed by the passage of time

But those who offend people in a deliberate way

Sorry for them does seem too hard to say

To accept you have done wrong is brave to realize

And it can be quite humbling to apologize.
