My Heroine

As individuals on all things we do not agree
The hero to you is not a hero to me
The name of my hero will never appear on a memorial wall
The hero to one is not a hero to all
My hero is not a celebrity he
In fact a heroine a generous, kind and compassionate she
A widowed grandmother in her early seventies of hair silver grey
Who helps the poor of her side of the town every day
The hopes in those with little hope she helps to raise
But for her kindness she never does seek recognition or praise
Though to be like your sort of hero you do desire
Most of the heroes of many i cannot admire
The praises of my heroine few ever do sing
But to those doing it tough some hope she does bring.
