Since she lived in Millstreet many a sunset and sundown
Where is she today the former Rose of Millstreet Town?
Her wavy hair to her shoulders was shiny and black
On what goes to make physical beauty she was not in lack
One who did not seem affected by conceit or guile
With the warmth of joy in her beautiful smile
In her early twenties then close to her life's prime
But this is going back some six decades in time
In the nineteen fifties many years gone since then
She was the one talked of by most of Millstreet's single young men
But she went off to live in the U S of A
She would be an octogenarian if she is living today
Time that ages everyone as ever ticks away
And on everyone eventually has the final say
And another young rose in Millstreet today
Who in the Town in view of Clara may not stay.
