In his early twenties before time did become his foe
Michael Looney left Claraghatlea sixty years ago
He and his wife Elizabeth raised their children in the Bronx New York in the U S of A
And in Norwalk in Conneticut his last remains lay
As nice a person as one could wish for to meet
He was missed by his family and many friends when he left Millstreet
His loss to Ireland to the U S A was a gain
Sad to tthink in Claraghatlea in the flesh he will not be seen again
Quite a gentleman Michael in his own easy going way
Of anyone he never had unkind things to say
One who never found it hard for to make a friend
Sad to learn his life's journey has come to an end
Michael Looney who breathed his last after eighty one years
By his family and friends has been farewelled in tears
From where old Clara Mountain forever looks down
May he rest in peace now far from Millstreet Town.
