Something i have been doing over decades of time
Without hope of financial gain or literary renown
The rhymes that come to me in notebook i pen down
Rhymes are a thing that are easy to write
Easy to read and for to recite
And though few from writing rhymes for themselves make a name
It can be an enjoyable hobby just the same
Most do have their hobbies in truth one can say
And mine is for to pen new rhymes every day
With rhyming words one who just loves for to play
If i did not enjoy doing it i would give it away
And i hope to be doing it on the day i do die
If i did tell you differently it would be a lie.
