The Smirker

With a smirk on your face you say how do you do
You are smirking at me but i am not laughing with you
You are a young person time not yet your foe
And i was like you many decades ago
Smirking at people three times my age
From the book of life we do learn as we turn every page
My accent you seem to find funny no doubt
I brought it with me to this Land of the south
From the fields of the badger and waterways of the brown trout
To some i am one who talks with a plum in his mouth
Your body language your true feelings betray
And if you live to the age that i am today
And some cocky young bloke with a smirk will say how do you do
You will feel about him like i feel about you.
