Hares

Hares are non burrowing cousins of rabbits of lagomorph breed
They survive by their swerving and dodging skills and their speed
Too hard for most predators for to chase to catch to eat
Few predators do know of the taste of hare meat
The young hares by their mother in high grass in different places hidden away
She usually comes to them to suckle from her by night and seldom by day
Quite shy and elusive of them one can say
In daylight from predators eyes well hidden in long grass they do  lay
Hares are amazing creatures for to give them their due
They are used in wired in coursing parks by people for their greyhounds to pursue
Though many of them survive thanks to their dodging skill
The unlucky few the hounds manage to kill
For a hare in it's prime to be killed by a predator is rare
Far easier prey to kill for a fox than a hare.
