Live hare coursing for decades enjoyed by coursing fans in Ireland

By an act of parliament may well soon be banned

One of the last surviving blood sports in Europe it's end may be near

The year two thousand and twenty two may well be coursing's last year

Coursing dogs of recent years by law a muzzle has to wear

Which does save the life of a cruel end of many a hare

But this did not bring the campaign of the anti coursing people to an end

And now the survival of coursing on politicians does depend

Few things last forever in truth one can say

And suppose coursing in Ireland has known of  a better day

With the anti coursing movement gaining momentum and their numbers on the rise

For the Irish Government to ban it would not come as a surprise

The end of coursing in Ireland coursing fans will not celebrate

But in most things in life there is a use by date
