Wherever you go to your past with you goes along
Your memories of what was in you does remain
In your times of reflection to visit again
Memories of people you have known of or of met
Some you remember with fondness and some you would rather forget
We age with years but the memories live on
In us of our past of the forever gone
The migrants have memories of their first homeplace
Where to many theirs used to be a well known face
Until the yearn for adventure lured them to elsewhere
For to experience life in the big World out there
It lives in your mind the beauty you have seen
Of the places in your travels that you to have been
But all we have of the past are the memories today
And life does go on as the wise one does say.
