He has lived for many years with a cranky wife
A verbal spray from her he often does cop
His son and daughter call him dad his grandchildren call him pop
To the rare gentle sort of male he does belong
Though not a physical weakling he is tall, broad shouldered and strong
His much smaller and petite looking wife bosses him around
In human relationships contradictions often abound
He loves her the only reason with her he does stay
And put up with her verbal abuse every day
Like as in everything in life does not go to plan
In every relationship between men and women the abusive one is not always the man
For some for falling in love there can be a price to pay
This is how it is and it was always this way.
