He is not the man that he was years ago
Time that ages everyone has become his foe
In his physical prime the town's champion athlete
And against the best in the Country with success he did compete
Bald headed and gray haired the years on him show
His fastest pace nowadays to say the least slow
He only has memories of a better day
And he did have his innings as some like to say
In his late seventies long past his physical prime
Eventually everyone loses out to time
A National champion in years now long gone
The biological clock on his life ticking on
Ten times a grandfather divorced from his wife
He has known of far better days in his life.
