To that place where we first looked on the lamp of day
Claraghatlea just west of the Town of Millstreet
In the green countryside where the waterways meet
Though the changes in Millstreet are happening fast
He still likes to talk of his days of the past
And his friends there many of them ageing today
Good memories live on as the wise one did say
In nineteen sixty nine when his hair was light brown
Michael Kelleher left claraghatlea near Milltsreet Town
To work in Australia with his uncle Phil
Far south of his birthplace in view of Clara's Hill
Out of Millstreet Michael Kelleher has lived the most of his life
With the lovely Rosemary nee Cronan his Australian wife
Grandparents many changes in Millstreet since then
Their children now middle aged women and men
In his working life as a pipe layer he worked hard for his pay
Michael Kelleher is in happy retirement today
Far south of Claraghatlea his first homeplace
In San Remo in South Gippsland in Victoria his is a known face.
