On a warm day in the Moyne Shire of over thirty degrees
The warm air full of the buzzing of bush flies and bees
With a humid warmth in the coastal breeze
The cattle lay chewing their cuds in the shade of the trees
In the mostly blue sky just a few clouds of gray
And above the sunlit paddocks white butterflies seemingly play
And with the sun on their dark wings chirping as they fly
Welcome swallows are chasing flying insects in the sky
In the coastal lands between Warrnambool City and Koroit Town
The grass a few weeks ago green has turned to brown
Wafting in the breeze of a warm Summer's day
The sweet scent of grass mowed for silage or hay
On a warm Summer's day in mid January
With the temperature gage close to thirty three.
