The Birthday party of twenty twenty two in Millstreet Town
Gobnait Twomey has celebrated a century of living her just claim to renown
Millstreet's Parish Priest Canon John Fitzgerald from the President of Ireland a cheques to her gave
In the history of Millstreet a moment in time for the memory to save
Gobnait who has been a widow for decades of years
Is one who has known of life's joys and tears
Though many years past her life's physical prime
She remains unfazed by the passing of time
In the hall of the long lived one who deserves her seat
Four generations of her direct descendants living a memorable feat
Much of her beauty of her prime years today she retain
Why some people age so well beyond me to explain
To capture on camera for the Millstreet Website images of the big occasion Sean Radley was there
Images not to be enjoyed alone by Millstreet people but by Duhallow people living elsewhere
Though Gobnait far beyond Duhallow is one who is well loved and known
In the Town in view of Clara they feel proud to claim her as one of their own
One hundred years of healthy living is enjoyed by so few
To say that centenarians are rare in the World is not saying what is new
Gobnait Twomey in Murphy's Terrace has celebrated her one hundred Birthday
For this she is more than worthy of a loud Hooray.
