And in St Michael's Cemetery in Blackrock his last remains lay
Predeceased by Mary nee Linehan of Millstreet Town his wife
Their union together was one for life
Though one who was well past his physical best years
His passing from life would not have gone without tears
For he lived as a person who was gentle and kind
And a very good friend in him many did find
In all who knew Michael fond memories of him will remain
His loss to Ballydaly was Douglas's gain
A good husband and father and a good grand-dad
The news of his passing from life to say the least sad
For all of us from life a final release
In Blackrock Cemetery in Cork may he now rest in peace.
