On Black Wallabies

Resting in the high scrub from view hidden away
The black wallabies at Tower Hill are seldom seen out by day
Shy and beautiful marsupials less than half of the size of a fully grown gray kangaroo
They are mostly loners though sometimes together one does see two
Sometimes at night they visit local gardens and some vegetables eat
A young green lettuce to their taste buds a tasty treat
With most other marsupials little in common they does share
In their range not plentiful and neither are they rare
Quite pretty to look at creatures but in ways rather shy
If a human approach them they hop to cover nearby
So much about them remains to be known
These medium sized marsupials with ways of their own
In the high scrub from view well hidden away
From hiding they venture out in the fading light of day.
