In Early January

In the mostly blue sunny sky just a few clouds of gray
Even for Summer in January a warm enough day
A weather temperature for the day of over thirty degrees
And rather humid with hardly any breeze
The waarm air full of the buzzing of bush flies and bees
And the cattle chewing their cuds lay in the shade of the trees
Dragon flies and butterflies in large numbers abound
Above the paddocks and gardens flying around
With the prime of the Summer every day more near
Early January in the far south can be a warm time of year
Up to a few weeks ago the grass looked quite green
But now in the paddocks some brown to be seen
Few birds chirp or sing but lots of flying insects about
On a warm day in early January in the far south.
