I am one of those who writes rhymes every day
She said this is a strange thing to be doing for an ageing man like you
Since writing rhymes is a thing only children like to do
She seemed quite judgmental for one as old as me
But that ageism does not have an age to it seems hard with to disagree
Her ageist comments on what i do were meant to offend
But then she is one i do not consider for to be a friend
Methought for one in her seventies she ought to have more sense
By deliberately wounding people's feelings in causing verbal offense
If some men can be verbally offensive some women can be too
They find pleasure in scoffing at what you like to do
One whenever i meet never brings joy to my day
Words can be quite hurtful when used in an offensive way.
