In The Coastal Countryside

In the coastal countryside of the Moyne Shire the grass is drying brown
Between the City of Warrnambool and Koroit Town
Up to a few weeks ago it was lush and green
But from January sunshine more brown to be seen
One of the cooler and wetter areas of Australia but in Suimmer warm and dry
And few clouds of gray in the sunny blue sky
In the home of dark wallaby and pale eyed crow
The Merri on towards Warrnambool winds it's way slow
Though the warbling of the magpies one often does hear
January in the Moyne Shire can be a warm time of year
The cattle chewing their cuds in the shade of the trees
On an evening quite close to the thirty degrees
The warm air is full of the buzzing of bush flies and bees
And white butterflies seemingly dancing in the breeze.
