He is known by his nickname as The Man From Elsewhere
Who left his first hometown for to see the big World out there
His hair silver gray that years ago was chestnut brown
He has lived and worked in many a city and town
From a short term relationship he has fathered a son
Who on his last birthday turned twenty one
On raising him any part he did not play
And he would not recognize him if they did meet today
He has worked in shearing sheds as a shearer and bulding sites in towns north, south, east and west
Even today in his early sixties at hard manual work he holds his own with the best
Working on a building site in the town though as usual with him not for a long stay
The wanderlust will be in him until his last living day
Known in the various towns he has worked in as The Man From Elsewhere
Forty years ago he left his first hometown for the big World out there.
