A place of great beauty and a peaceful retreat
Away from the noisy traffic of the street
Where for material gain humans with each other compete
In the quiet countryside where the waterways meet
On an evening in October in the Southern Spring
The wildborn nesting birds whistle and sing
The weather not waarm or cold but pleasantly cool
And on the dark waters of a quiet river pool
The dark baby moorhens swimming with their dark parents near
The sound of their chirping so pleasant to hear
Of the birds that do sing every day of the year
The warblings of the magpies on the high trees melodious and clear
In the quiet of the evening just before sundown
Away from the traffic of the noisy town.
